I love to read novels that are rooted in history. They don't need to be perfect, just something that gives me a glimpse of the past, and what it might have been like. One of my favorite authors is Louisa May Alcott; She has a nice perspective on life. Sometimes when I come out of my reverie I think of how I could be like the character in the book. There are so many lessons to be learned by characters and their shenanigans. Delving into ones life and character can really be a bonus if you can take their good qualities and act them out into your own life. Don't think reading fiction is necessarily a waste of time. It's simply another chance to learn from someone else's mistakes. These characters are not completely fake, they came from someones imagination and are more than likely created because of something the author themselves has experienced or someone close to them has experienced.
