Relay-tionships - Working Together

Relay races take a team effort. Sometimes one person is working while the other cheers them on, sometimes they are working together, but ultimately they are always working together toward an end goal. Relationships are the same way. We are not a one-man-show, we are not ever alone in our trials, and we aren't ever just an on-looker. You and any person you are in a  relationship with, be it, spouse, child, parent, friend, co-worker, etc... should have a joint goal. Pride Says: "I am the most important person in this relationship." Love Says" We are equally important " or better yet,  "You are more important than me" Pride Says: "I am the authority, I am always right." Love Says: "What do you think about...?" Pride Says: "This is how it's done!" Love Says: "I can be flexible." "There are two sides to every story, and then there is the truth." ~Mark Twain Husband/Wife - R

Hello Kitty 3rd Birthday Party

Every parent says it, but it's always true... I can't believe it already been ____ years since my baby was born! Check out our 3rd Birthday party staring Hello Kitty this year thanks to a great find at the Home Goods store!  I always have a Pinterest board for each party that I do. You can find me on Pinterest as Sarah Perry.  Feel free to follow, borrow ideas, or completely mirror my party! Sarah

Artist Party

I love a good party! Today's theme is art/artist/crafty. I hope you get some great ideas to pull off your own Artist Party! I finally got my porch decor updated to some sunny yellow pansies and a red rainboot I found! The three little pots are mint - Spearmint, Peppermint, & Sweet mint. We have a enormous amount of spiders living on our porch and hope to help them find a new home! This particular party was set for 7-12 people. It was a highly involved party so I gave out invitations with RSVP's. We ate some great food, but I have to say I'm used to pulling the theme into the food and I couldn't find a healthy way to get artist into the food. Every artist party I saw was for children and involved a ridiculous amount of sugar. So we simply had a gourmet Artists' Luncheon... LUNCHEON: Drinks:  Chick-fil-A Lemonade, Ice-water (“Creative Juices”) Food:  Build your own bagel - bagel thins, deli meat, onion &chive cream cheese spre

Children's Books I Recommend

I am reading through a whole slew of junior books before they take permanent dwelling on my bookshelves. Some I've read before, probably required during school, and some are completely new to me. I also want to share some great nap time reading for your little ones! 1) The complete Tales of Winnie-the-Pooh  My daughter and I are reading through this large volume of original Winnie-The-Pooh stories one chapter at a time right before nap time. Needless to say we get excited about nap time now! 2) Usborne Illustrated Classics   I am an Usborne Books independant consultant and I really enjoy their collection of Illustrated Classics. We just finished the 6 stories in the Classics for Girls which include - Heidi, Little Women, Wizard of Oz, Black Beauty, The Railway Children, and The Secret Garden. They are abridged for elementary age reading, but I can easily read two chapters at a time before nap with my 3 year old. We have The Illustrated Classics of Dickens coming in the
