I DO BBQ Rehearsal Lunch

This hotel conference room just went through a make over! We transformed this boring whitewashed room into a backyard I Do BBQ party!
Conference Room BEFORE...

...Conference Room AFTER!

Coffee Can with Plaid burlap ribbon and weeds!
Chalk boards and small canning jars for bbq sauce.

Various sized Mason jars filled with dirt and red tea lights.
Also several jars filled with brown crayons to doodle on the
brown paper table cloth.

The table cloth is brown paper (bought in a large roll)
The star was painted on with a large stencil.

Wood slabs for texture and height.

We had a large white wall to decorate... it became the "note to
the couple" wall

Using a plate and a cup we traced each person's placemat and laid
their silverware nearby for convenience.

Lanters filled with Apples were each tables centerpiece.

More chalkboards to decorate the bride and grooms's
chairs. The bride has a bow the groom a bow tie.
(every detail counts!)

More wooden slabs were used a trivets for cast iron pots and hot food.
An array of different lantern and a red plaid cloth create the centerpiece
for the food line.

If you don't have very much of one themed thing, don't worry! Mix and match what you have to create a unique theme. We paired lanterns, coffee cans, and mason jars to complete this I Do BBQ lunch. We brought together outdoor and indoor, we picked weeds from around the hotel for our flowers. We used paper as a tablecloth and asked our guests to get creative by putting crayons on the table. People have been trying to think outside the box for years, now it's your turn. What would you do to create an I DO BBQ theme?

Are you doing a party soon? What do you think of doing a BBQ theme?

42 Questions To Ask Your Spouse On Valentine's Day

If you and your spouse were on the Newlywed game show... would you win? My husband and I are going to a couple's retreat next month and decided to get a head start on it by brushing up on our newlywed gameshow questions. We actually did pretty well the first time through, but we keep giving each other pop quizzes to keep the answers fresh in our minds. Below I've made a list of common couples questions that you and your spouse might find fun to ask each other. 1) What is your spouse's all time favorite movie? 2) What would your spouse request as their "last meal"? 3) What is your spouse's favorite pastime? 4) What percentage of housework would your husband say he does? 5) What flavor of cake did you have at your wedding? 6) What is your spouse's ideal date night? 7) Excluding people, what would your spouse say is their most prized possession? 8) At what specific sport or game will you wife say she is better than you? 9) What is your spouse&#

DIY Window Cleaner

Day two of our prep work for the Spring Cleaning Challenge! Today I'm going to give you a recipe for window cleaner.  I've also been told that using warm water and a little bit of cornstarch is a great way to clean your windows as well. I don't have a recipe or a ratio for you though. I hope you are gearing up for the Challenge, it's only 7 days away! Don't forget to leave a comment below if you want to join us for the Spring Cleaning Challenge. Sarah

Spring Cleaning Challenge- Day 21, Shower

I hope you had a wonderful weekend, celebrating Easter with family and friends. This week we will be focusing on the bathrooms. (I hope you don't have very many) Because I'm not getting this post out till late morning you might consider swapping today's task and tomorrow's. If you get up early and have already taken a shower you might not want to clean the shower today. Instead you can jump ahead to tomorrow and clean the shower curtain and liner. Then tomorrow morning when you take a shower you can clean it. Do whatever works best with your schedule. CHALLENGE: Clean you shower(s) till it sparkles. Here is a link back to the post about shower cleaner. It really does work the best; It makes my shower tiles sparkle! I find that taking a shower while cleaning it is the easiest way. If you have multiple showers, you might consider not getting soaking wet every time, or asking a spouse or child to help you. Take a scrub brush to work on grout mold, and a sponge to wipe
