16 Unique Family Fall Activities

Today is the Fall Equinox! Happy Fall Everyone!
In honor of this beautiful season I put together a list of unique fall activities for the family. I've also linked all of my ideas to a Pinterest board which you can access here! There are loads of recipes and how to's for crafts. I've also pinned more than I wrote about here so check it out!

1) Make a Fall Bucket list! Give one to each member of the family and see who can fill it out first. (hopefully most of them you will get to do together!)

2) Have a Carnival! Put on a family or neighborhood carnival. Enjoy silly games and win lots of candy (or whatever you choose)

3) Have a Pumpkin Carving Contest! Competition is always fun. Choose a judge, find an awesome template, and carve away!

4) Race Through a Corn Maze! Create teams and see who can finish first!

5) Thanksgiving Walk/Run! Everyone needs a good reason to eat more at Thanksgiving right? Why not have a family walkathon before dinner! Maybe have a grand prize for the winner!

6) Have a Hay Ride! Maybe you can't do a traditional one due to lack of resources, but you could load up a little wagon or wheelbarrow and take the kids for a ride! Maybe it will turn into a wheelbarrow race!

7) Go Stargazing! Take a drive, find a dark place and just marvel at the beauty of God's creation.

8) Have a Bonfire! Roast marshmellows, make up new smore's combinations, and sing some songs!

9) Make Wassail! Wassail is an old English hot spiced cider served during winter holidays. It's the best!

10) Go Apple Picking! Find a u-pick orchard near you and spend the day picking apples.

11) Make and Can Your Own Applesauce! This is one of the items I have pinned with detailed instructions!

12) Rent a Cabin! Get away for the weekend, enjoy some time in nature. Read some books, go for a hike, and do a little fishing.

13) Volunteer at a Local Farm! Find a small farm that is harvesting near you and help. They will most likely give you some fresh vegetables at the end of the day!

14) Make Carmel Apples! Fancy or plain, they will all taste great! Let everyone top there own!

15) Play Yard Games! Horseshoes, limbo, lawn bowling, corn hole... there are so many good games to play!

16) Make a Cookie in a jar!  These make great teacher, housewarming, or meet your neighbors gifts. Make sure to make them Fallish!

Hope you are having a great season! I'm sure we are looking forward to the Holidays to come!

42 Questions To Ask Your Spouse On Valentine's Day

If you and your spouse were on the Newlywed game show... would you win? My husband and I are going to a couple's retreat next month and decided to get a head start on it by brushing up on our newlywed gameshow questions. We actually did pretty well the first time through, but we keep giving each other pop quizzes to keep the answers fresh in our minds. Below I've made a list of common couples questions that you and your spouse might find fun to ask each other. 1) What is your spouse's all time favorite movie? 2) What would your spouse request as their "last meal"? 3) What is your spouse's favorite pastime? 4) What percentage of housework would your husband say he does? 5) What flavor of cake did you have at your wedding? 6) What is your spouse's ideal date night? 7) Excluding people, what would your spouse say is their most prized possession? 8) At what specific sport or game will you wife say she is better than you? 9) What is your spouse&#

DIY Window Cleaner

Day two of our prep work for the Spring Cleaning Challenge! Today I'm going to give you a recipe for window cleaner.  I've also been told that using warm water and a little bit of cornstarch is a great way to clean your windows as well. I don't have a recipe or a ratio for you though. I hope you are gearing up for the Challenge, it's only 7 days away! Don't forget to leave a comment below if you want to join us for the Spring Cleaning Challenge. Sarah

Mom Rules

Being a mom has a whole lot more to do with life than changing poopy diapers, nursing, schooling, dressing, and disciplining. It's when you change that diaper or where you nurse your baby, how you go about schooling and why and how you discipline. I've made a short 3 point list of rules every mom (or parent) should have. It's short and easy to remember so you can quickly think through the questions when parenting. Rule 1 - The Golden Rule Matthew 7:12 "So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the law and prophets." Treat your children as if they are a person, a real person who understand, cares, feels, and dreams. They are not your minions, your slaves, or even yours at all for that matter. They belong to the Lord and they are yours to nurture, love, and teach. They have a soul, and feelings. When debating if you have time to change their diaper, or heat up their lunch, or grab that pair of mittens… remember they have fe
